Bijoux Parisiens - French Jewelry from the Petit Palais

Taft Museum ; Joslyn Art Museum ; Cummer Museum
An exhibition from the collections of the Petit Palais, museum of Fine Arts of the City of Paris, presented at the Taft Museum in Cincinnati from 11 February to 14 May 2017, followed by the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha from 4 June to 10 September 2017 and the Cummer Museum in Jacksonville from 13 October 2017 to 7 January 2018.

The exhibition Bijoux Parisiens tells the story of dozens of talented artists, designers, and entrepreneurs, working with the most precious materials on earth and creating extraordinary pieces of art. It showcases the development and transformation of French jewelry design from Napoleonic Neoclassicism, through many changes, until the Art Deco period. It outlines the key exhibitions, events, and influences that made so many interesting careers and helped establish the great Parisian Houses that are today household names – Cartier, Lalique, Van Cleef & Arpels, Boucheron, and more.
