Outside Fashion, Fashion Photography from the Studio to Exotic Lands (1900-1969)
This exhibition traces the history of fashion photography from the beginning of the 20th century to 1970s. Created at the end of the 19th century in the studios of portrait photographers, outdoors fashion photography is thus defined as a genre in its own right as early as the beginningof the 20th century. From garden-painted backgrounds to Indian maharajah palaces, fashion photography has never ceased to invest the world. The exhibition brings together more than 180 images and fashion magazines to give the visitors the opportunity to discover the work of severals great studios and famous photographers, such as Henry Clarke, Willy Maywald or Jean Moral.
