Paris Haute Couture
Drawn from the collections of the Palais Galliera, the exhibition retraces the history of haute couture, from its invention by Charles-Frederic Worth until today. The selection of pieces, all unique, was made not only according to the influence of the couturier on his or her time, but also according to the taste of the client. The invaluable works of Madeleine Vionnet, Paul Poiret, Schiaparelli, Chanel, Dior, Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent are an opportunity to appreciate the great heights in the history of haute couture. This exhibition reveals an industry essential to the image of the Parisian capital all over the world, an image of charm and sophistication.
