City of Paris museums are open !

Several museums will open again on 19 May*: the Palais Galliera, the Paris Museum of Modern Art, the Liberation of Paris Museum ‐ General Leclerc Museum ‐ Jean Moulin Museum, Balzac’s House, the Petit Palais, the Cernuschi Museum, the Cognacq‐Jay Museum, the Museum of Romantic Life and the Paris Catacombs.

After a year of restoration work, Victor Hugo’s House on the Place des Vosges will open again on the same date.

The Zadkine and Bourdelle Museums will open again in June.

The Carnavalet Museum ‐ History of Paris will open again on 29 May after 4 years of renovation work with a new tour sequence in a more spacious setting. 

Finally, dates will be published shortly regarding the reopening of the Île de la Cité Archaeological Crypt.

*City of Paris Museums will maintain heightened health measures in order to guarantee optimal protection during visits.

• Bookings 

The online ticket office will be open on Monday 17 May 2021, with staggered ticket sales. Initially, tickets may be booked for the period from 19 May to 8 June 2021 inclusive for individual visitors only. Group activities and reception will resume on 9 June under conditions to be specified at a later date.

To visit the temporary exhibitions, a time-stamped ticket must be booked online for all visitors, including holders of the Paris Museums Pass*.

The permanent collections of City of Paris Museums are free of charge and online bookings do not need to be made, except in the case of the permanent tour at the Carnavalet Museum – History of Paris for which a free ticket must be booked online.

* Holders of the Paris Museums Pass will be granted an extension. You will be duly informed of the terms and conditions of extension of the Pass by email, on our social media pages and on our internet site in the next few days. Thank you for your understanding.

Your safety and the safety of our staff are paramount. In accordance with directives from the French government and in order to guarantee optimal safety during your visit, City of Paris Museums has implemented health measures and new admission formalities. • Opening hours

As of 19 May, the museums will be open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.

The Paris Catacombs will be open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9.45 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. (last admissions at 7.30 p.m.). 

• Evening opening 

Petit Palais: Fridays until 8 p.m. 

Paris Museum of Modern Art: Thursdays until 8 p.m. 

Palais Galliera: Thursdays and Fridays until 8 p.m.
